Wedding Photography Internship

Not gonna lie, I have so many feelings about writing today’s post. This wedding photography internship has been a long time coming.

When I started building my empire in 2009, having an intern wasn’t even on my radar.

I didn’t have any grand plans at that point.

Honestly, I was just trying to get through each day and find clients who would pay me.

Since then, things have improved ~~slightly~~ greatly improved.

Now we want to give back and provide an internship opportunity.

Internship Summary:

Fresh Look Photography is offering a 3-month photography internship. This is an unpaid position but compensated with tacos and margaritas.

It is designed for an entrepreneur or fellow creative who is interested in learning from a vetted, badass industry professional.

The Intern will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how a successful photography business is run. This includes an awesome look at what goes on behind the scenes. Intern must be able to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends. A background in photography and social media is strongly encouraged. All candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Due to the nature of the internship, it will be a best fit for those living in and around the Virginia Beach/Hampton Roads.

The spring application deadline is February 7, 2020.

We will be in touch with candidates we think may be a good fit no later than February 17, 2020.

Internship will start the beginning of March, 2020.

Wedding Photography Internship

What Fresh Look Photography is Looking For:

Commitment to work 6-15 hours/week (dependent on workload) both in-office and remotely
Ability to assist at weddings on Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays
Outstanding eye for style & design
Exceptional knowledge of social media (specifically Instagram & Pinterest)
Strong grammatical/writing skills
Self-motivator, eager to contribute to the team in any way
General knowledge of Photoshop, Lightroom & WordPress
Must love Tacos and Margaritas

Spring Internship Responsibilities (March-May)

Maintain and update Fresh Look Photography blog/website via WordPress
Managing and update social media platforms (such as Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest)
Assisting with Client Relationships/Management through email/telephone and in-person interactions
Support Judith and Eric at Portrait Sessions and Weddings (camera not required)
Help foster and Nurture Wedding Vendor Relationships
Brainstorm new and interesting ways to grow Fresh Look Photography
