Here in Virginia Beach, the weather is getting cooler and the leaves are a riot of color. That can only mean that it’s the perfect time for a fall engagement session!

These two lovebirds are having us photograph their wedding next year (yippee!).

Tyler is the nephew for one of our favorite clients, and we are over the moon thrilled that they trusted us with their wedding images!

Fall Engagement Session in Virginia Beach

Tyler and I were high school sweethearts.

I saw him leaned up against the locker in school eating a Taco Bell burrito and was like “damn that’s my kinda man”.

He found me on Facebook, and after that I sent him a message and the rest is history.

Our first date was to go see the movie Shutter Island.

I don’t think of any one defined moment that makes me know he’s the one rather a thousand little moments he has done throughout our relationship.

Like how he opens the car door for date night and still randomly kisses the back of my hand in the middle of dinner.

Or how he reminds me to stop stressing and just laugh instead of getting upset when something isn’t going right.

And when I’m feeling less than confident, he always makes feel beautiful and never lets me forget just how much he loves my booty.

We’re like complete opposites but we both have what the other person needs and no matter what we’ve fought about or how mad we are we never go to bed mad at each other.

Some of our favorite dates are going to cinema cafe for pizza combo and a film.

We love to take our dogs Scooby and Maverick to seashore, and love to play strip call of duty.

What was the Proposal Like?

He proposed when we went to Massanutten for an hour extended weekend trip.

We both love nature and try to take at least one trip each year to a new place.

His favorite aunt (my favorite future aunt in law) came with the fam to “getaway” as well.

We went for a hike to go see one of the waterfalls and as we are walking down the path I see a tree that had a heart carved into it with the words “Kaila will you marry me”.

I went to look at Tyler and he was on one knee holding an engagement ring.

I said yes and just about tackle hugged him!

It was perfect!

He did an amazing job, and Aunt Susan was there to turn memories into photos.

It’s hard to pick one word for our relationship after 8 years of dating but trust, passion or friendship are the three that stick out.

We truly are each other’s best friend and we trust one another with all of our secrets.

I know that no matter how far away he is, for however long, we will come back together just as strong!

I get excited thinking about what we’re looking forward to most on our wedding day!

He says he can’t wait to see me walk down the aisle, and I can’t wait to see him cry when I do.
