When it comes to things people say to photographers, it doesn’t take very long for you to hear it all! There are some pretty cliche things that (while you might think sound funny), we photographers have heard a million times and are inwardly cringing – or laughing – one of the two. If you need a mental margarita, today’s blog post will definitely help lighten your mood because whether you’re a hobbyist or a pro, the things people say to photographers is always the same, and it’s always funny!

Things People Say to Photographers

“That is such a nice camera!”

(thanks, I taught it everything it knows!)

“No wonder you charge so much, look at that camera!”

“Is that your skinny lens?”

Nope, we only use our skinny lenses for clients we like 😉

“No wait, this is my good side”

“Can you make my hair longer/shorter/blonder/redder”

“Can you make me skinnier?”

“Can you make everything black and white except for my shirt/hat/eyes?”

No, no, no! This is so overdone and you’re going to regret it later on!

“Can you fix my tan lines?”

“Can you edit out my bra strap?”

“Wait, you can just photoshop that, right?”

If I had a nickle for every time I heard this little gem!

“I like it when the background is blurry. Can your camera do that?”

“Did you get it?”

“Can I see the photo?”

“Will the photos be on Facebook tomorrow?”

“I want the photos to be really original… so here’s my list of Pinterest poses I want to recreate… all 749 of them.”

Facepalm.

“Can I just send those to be printed at Walmart?”

See above comment about Facepalm

“Can I get all the photos you took, even the bad ones?”

No way, remember that photo of Beyonce where she was making those faces? Yeah, not cute… and she’s Bey!

“Can I get a discount”

Can I get a discount next time I come into your store?

“Will you take my photos for free? I promise I’ll give you exposure.”

Yeah… I’ll be sure to get right on that.

“No, I understand… I’m a photographer too”

Yeah, I bet you are 😉

“You paid all that money for a camera and it doesn’t even have a pop-up flash?!”

I know, I couldn’t believe it either!

“How many megapixels is it?”

Why, whatcha gonna do with all those megapixels?

“Can you crop this so that I’m in the middle of the picture?”

“Nevermind, I can do it in Photo on my Mac.”
