I get it… we are ALL sick of being stuck in the house. Everyone just wanted to go out and live their best life. But until that happens, we’ve got a ton of stay at home date night ideas.
No one knows how long the lockdown will last (hopefully it ends sooner rather than later!).
So let’s make the most of the time we have with our significant other and create memories together.

Stay At Home Date Night Ideas
Chopped Cooking Competition
This is a great way to have fun in the kitchen while using groceries you already have on hand.
Not only does it clear out the fridge, but you can also finally settle the debate on who is the better cook!
And I’ve heard that a little competition is healthy for a relationship.

Written in the Stars
Sit outside and look at the stars together.
You can download an app and point it at the sky and it will tell you where the planets and constellations are.
Two that we love are Night Sky and Sky Map.
Make it a game: take turns guessing the constellations and seeing who can get more correct.
.
Charcuterie and Chill
I know it’s easy to simply order a charcuterie board from a local restaurant (and by all means, they need the support!).
But it’s a lot of fun if you turn shopping for the charcuterie board ingredients into part of the date.
We love getting to look over all the different cheese and meat options!
Getting to pick out things you love – as well as things you haven’t tried yet – makes it more of an adventure.
Add in a bottle of your favorite wine, and you’re all set for a delicious night in.
.
Take a Hike
Getting out and exploring nature together does wonders for your mind and body.
I don’t know about y’all, but we’ve got three kiddos.
So if we do a nature walk/hike, it’s probably going to include them.
However, we always make it a point to stop somewhere and sit/hold hands together while the kids are nearby playing and exploring.
.
Firepit and S’mores
There is just something about sitting outside, watching a fire burn.
I love finding gourmet marshmallows (like these vanilla bean ones on Amazon!), and pairing them with a sinful dark chocolate.
Plus since you’re just hanging out in front of the fire, it creates space for you and your partner to connect.
No pressure, no forced conversation – just relaxing together.
And including a bottle of your favorite wine is always a great idea.
.
Board Game Night
Some of the most fun we’ve had together has been challenging each other to game nights!
We’ve tried everything from Jenga, Monopoly, Cards Against Humanity, Scrabble…
And recently had a lot of fun playing Trivial Pursuit!
.
Arts and Crafts
There are so many options you can do with this one:
- Paint Pour Artwork
- Tie Dye Tee Shirts
- Paint by Numbers (and right now Pinot’s Palette is offering take-home boxes!)
This could also extend to a remodeling project, but for me, that’s too much like work and not enough like a date.

Tailgate Picnic
If you have a truck or SUV, plan a tailgate picnic.
Whether you are bringing a full dinner, something to snack on, or just enjoying ice cream – this is another great way to connect.
Focusing on the food allows us to let our guards down, and conversation to be more organic.
Not in the mood to chat?
No worries!
Download a movie onto your laptop, and have your own “drive in movie” night.
.
Movie Marathon Theme Night
This is a fun twist on dinner and a movie!
For this, select a movie series, and then choose a food that goes with the theme.
So you could watch old Jackie Chan movies and order Chinese. Or how about a deep dish pizza and The Godfather?!
.
Make a “Specialty” Drink and Sip Them Outside
Your job is to figure out what kind of drink you would be as a couple.
Sweet and crisp, spicy and warm?
Mix flavors, mix liquors, and then crown a “winning” concoction.
Then take the winning drinks outside, and sit and enjoy the sounds of outside together.
(maybe incorporate a fire pit here?!)
.
Do a Wine & Chocolate Tasting
No, we’re not talking about one of those pre-made kits.
This will be a choose your own adventure style evening!
Both of you choose three types of chocolate to sample (ones you haven’t tried before).
Both of you choose 3 wines to sample.
Then, bring everything back home and start tasting.
What do you like/not like?
.
At Home Spa/Pampering
Believe it or not, this is one of our favorite things to do together!
It feels so good to smear a face mask onto your partner, and I promise that lots of giggles will ensue.
Especially after the mask hardens and you’re cracking the mask while trying not to smile.
Other things you could do are mani/pedis (home foot spa here we come!).
Or even just rubbing your partners feet after a long day.
Make it special by using bath spa products to up the “luxe” feeling!
