One of the things that I love about working at MOCA is the fact that I get to meet so many wonderful people!

The daytime instructor, Jackie Poutasse has been amazing in supporting me in my photographic journey, pushing me to excel and helping me refine my work (even if that means cutting 1/2 the pictures from my current body of work).

So when she asked if I could help her photograph her niece Sammi’s senior photo shoot, I was totally on board!

Country Themed Senior Photo Shoot

Sammi wanted a country girl theme, so we picked this location where we could get a country feel in the images.

But still keeping things soft and sweet.

Working with Sami was so easy –  she was so super laid back!

Before we even started taking pictures, I told her that we would probably get a little silly during the session.

I really strive to get those genuine reactions in our sessions!

I said she had to laugh at my bad jokes and pretend that they were really funny.

She was so sweet, she actually did laugh…. and the jokes really were terrible!

While we were doing the session, Jackie was taking behind the scenes pictures (and even a little video I believe), so if having one camera coming at you wasn’t enough, Sammi had two!

We found out that we have a common dislike of “nature” and how neither of us really “do” bugs.

This became very apparent when we were taking pictures against the bricks and there was a giant (seriously giant!) black armored spider hanging out on the wall.

Jackie tried to tell us it was simply a daddy long leg spider, but I wasn’t buying it. That thing was gigantic!!! Thank goodness Jackie was there to get rid of it, because Sammi and I wanted nothing to do with it!

Jackie and Sammi, thank you for coming out with me to take pictures. I had an absolute blast with you guys and can’t wait to see all the amazing things that Sammi will do with her life!!!
Sammi, you are an amazing young woman, know that you can do anything you decide that you want to do! Go out and take the world by storm,
