The weather was so perfect at DJ and Cali’s Norfolk Waterside engagement session!
Initially the sky was super cloudy and it looked like rain, but we got lucky and the bad weather held off.
What remained was a gorgeous, moody sky, and all the romantic vibes at the Waterside District!

Norfolk Waterside Engagement Session
How did you two meet:
The two of us were highschool sweethearts! I was in 9th grade and he was in 10th.

What did you do on your first date:
Since we were still in high school, we went to our local movie theater.

What are some of your favorite things to do together:
Both DJ and I love being active outside, finding new locations and towns to explore. Another favorite thing is getting to host our friends and family.

When did you know they were “The One”:
I knew that he was the one when we (successfully) made it through college. The two of us had a long distance relationship for 5 years, but we always made it a point to see each other once a month.

Tell Us Your Proposal Story:
It was DJs birthday and we decided to go out to lunch. DJ said he wanted to go to his favorite spot, which is Bay Local.
Since he insisted on driving, I soon realized that I had no clue where we were going.
We drove all the way to the oceanfront and then got out at North End beach. Imagine my surprise as we walked up to a beautiful picnic set up by the Virginia Beach Picnic Company where he got down on one knee and popped the question.
It was all so romantic, and we spent the rest of the afternoon soaking it all up.

Dreamy

What are three dreams/goals for your marriage:
- Building our own home
- One day getting to travel to Italy together
- Having a house full of kids
.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day:
The two of us being able to celebrate our love with all our closest friend and family who have watched us grow up together.
