I love the tradition that we seem to have started with Dani and James! When we first met them, it was through a wedding planner when we were doing our Southern Charm wedding in MD a few years ago. We really hit it off (why aren’t you guys closer so we can be couple-friends?!), so last year, they came down to hang out for Memorial Day, and we did a 1st anniversary shoot together. When we were thinking about places to go for their second anniversary shoot, I knew that the Norfolk Neon Arts district would speak to Dani’s art-loving soul! And since I’ve been wanting to do a couples session here for ages, it worked out perfectly!

Here’s a little more about the couple from them:

Dani and James met online (thank you, OKCupid.com), and while they were both a bit skeptical in the beginning, everything turned out well in the end!
Danie shares that she knew James was the one almost immediately! After only a month of dating, Dani accepted a new teaching position in Virginia. Instead of being freaked out and shying away, James agreed to move with her! But as far as how the proposal took place… they did not really have a proposal. If you ask Dani and James, they will both tell you that they had a mutual agreement! 😉

When it comes to spending time together, Dani and James love to play videogames, catch up on their favorite shows watching TV, cuddle with all of our fur babies (cats, dogs, guinea pigs… it’s practically a zoo!), and explore all of the small towns/sights around us!
Something unique about this sweet couple is that they often speak in their own secret language!

This was a newly painted mural (well, new since the last time I had been down to Norfolk), so I really wanted to get a shot of these two with it because the colors were so bright and vibrant!

Looking ahead, Dani and James are excited about the future and what it holds for them! Dani and I both agree that the unexpected is so exciting! There are so many amazing opportunities coming up for them, from small accomplishments (home improvements), up to big life changing ones (like choosing to go Vegan!).
