If you want to see what’s going on in the world, all you have to do is flip on the tv and choose from the plethora of news stations currently broadcasting: CNN, NBC, FOX News, BBC, etc. However, where do you go if you want to find news for photographers?! I believe it’s important to stay on top of current events, and this means taking a peek outside of your genre and looking around to see what the photographic community at large is up to!

News For Photographers

Here are a few sights to keep you in the loop of all things newsworthy when it comes to photography.

Professional Photographers of America (PPA) – lots of great info on the site, this is the link to their Press Room.

World Photography Organization – a global platform for the photography community to communicate, cultivate and congregate.

PopPhoto.com – Photo news, camera news, announcements, and everything else surrounding photography culture.

PetaPixel – A blog for photography enthusiasts: photo and camera news, reviews, and inspiration.

National Press Photographers Association – the voice of visual journalists

And these are just a few to get you started!

I encourage you to take a few minutes and do a google search for photography news either in your area or worldwide. It’s great to be in the loop and relevant when it comes to knowing what’s going on. With the knowledge (literally) at our fingertips, it’s never been easier to stay up to date in news for photographers.
