It seems that whenever I head over to do a Hilton Norfolk THE MAIN engagement session, the weather is always raining.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not necessarily a bad thing – it’s just ironic.
That doesn’t impede us when taking pictures, it just means that we get to use the gorgeous inside space.
Although I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t sad we didn’t get the chance to head out to the rooftop patio!

Hilton Norfolk THE MAIN Engagement Session
How you two meet?
We met at High House Billiards, a pool haul in Cary, NC.
Travis was the one who plays pool, I only knew that the 8-ball is the last ball to make.
What did you do on your first date?
Our first date we went out for dinner together.
My brother was part of in a band in 2013, so we drove out to Chapel Hill to see him perform.
This was also the first time Travis met my mother, sister and brother.
What are some of your favorite things to do together?
Well we obviously enjoy playing pool together.
We love to take on projects, such as restoring furniture and building things.
Fun fact: we built my chameleon a cage out of a china hutch!
We also enjoy relaxing and binge watching a good tv series on Netflix.

When did you know he was the one?
I knew he was the one probably a few weeks into our relationship.
Everything about him and meeting him as well as being around him felt special.
Travis is such a positive person, and very entertaining to be around.
He also encouraged me to go back to college and helped me get into the property restoration field.

Tell Us Your Proposal Story?
First cruise, we went to Cozumel, Mexico in December.
I was really excited but nervous because I had never been on a cruise ship.
So we had fancy dinner the first night, did all sorts of fun things on the boat, and (of course) played pool.
Then we landed in Cozumel, Mexico.
Travis and I decided to do an excursion to the Jade Caverns by ATV since I had never been on one before.
It was so much fun with Travis driving and scooting along thru the mud and sliding around (which we weren’t supposed to be doing!).
When we got to the Jade Caverns, which is a Cenote (sinkhole) – it was beautiful and serene.
I was focused on taking photos and enjoying the scenery.
We were both ready to stick our feet in this water, which is super rich in minerals and great for the skin.
When I turn around and Travis is on his knees asking me to marry him.
I couldn’t get the words out because I was crying with joy!
Our tour guides and other tourists all cheered and clapped.
Luckily another tourist was taking photos of the area and he snapped photos of us in the moment.
It was so beautiful and I’ll never forget it.

If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?
What are three dreams/goals for your marriage?
- To stay connected, and never lose the passion.
- Enjoy life to its fullest with each other.
- Begin a family one day.
Tell us what you’re looking forward to most on the wedding day.
I look forward to walking down the aisle to Travis.
It will be so special sharing this moment with all of our loved ones and closest friends.
Also, for Travis to see me in the dress I chose – it’s going to blow him out of the water!
