It’s time to wish Fresh Look a very happy birthday today, wow, can you believe it’s already been 7 years?!
I’ll be honest: when I first started my professional photography journey, it wasn’t because I had this deep, intrinsic desire to create gorgeousness with the camera.
It was desperation.
I was broke, going through a nasty divorce, struggling with feelings of self worth, and worrying about whether or not I could keep a roof over my babies heads.
At that point, I knew I had two options: go get a “real job” working 8-10 hour days, put my babies in daycare and hardly get to see them… or try and make this photography thing work.
So I threw myself into photography with the hunger of someone who knew they were one misstep away from falling off the cliff.
And lucky for me…. it worked!
Happy Birthday!
In the past 7 years since the business has started, it has seen ups and downs. There have been good pictures, there have been not so good pictures (sorry to everyone who had a session with me in the beginning!), I’ve had the pleasure of working with and getting to know my peers in the industry, started teaching photography as a “real job” and had my husband Eric come on board as my main man second shooter (we are a dream team, if I do say so myself! 😉 ).
Every day, I am humbled and grateful whenever a client chooses to book with us! I love that we get to work with some of the most amazing couples and families, and that Eric and I get to spend our lives doing things that we LOVE! I mean really, at what other job do you get paid to travel and eat wedding cake?!
For anyone who has done a photo shoot with us, it is my fervent hope that you had an amazing time and we can’t wait to do more pictures for you!
For all those amazing students who have come to one of our workshops/shootouts/get togethers, I hope you learned something! But even more than that, I hope that you saw two people who are trying to make the photography industry just a little bit better!
Cheers to the last 7 years, and here’s to many more to come!
A very Happy Anniversary to FreshLook Photography. Your classes helped me tremendously and very thankful to have met you and Eric. Here is to a life time of success!!!!
Yay, so happy to hear that 🙂
I had the pleasure of meeting you through MOCA when I decided to take the next step in my photography journey this past fall and take a class. Your bubbly personality and knowledge of photography made the class wonderful. Your insight into the photography world has inspired me to keep going and better my skills. Just takes practice right? I am so glad your business is so successful and you are so happy and blessed to work with your main man Eric!! I hope you both continue to enjoy your successes and family love!! I always tell people, “You need to do what makes you happy. And if you ain’t happy, you need to make changes.” You my dear friend Judith, don’t need to make any changes…..people can see your happiness from miles away!!!! CHEERS my friend and here is to the next wonderful 7 years!!!!
Thank you so much Theresa, your sweet words really made my heart happy <3
