Headout out for a First Landing beach session with the Kislear family was so much fun!

Now if I’m being honest, these images were taken months ago, when we had warmer weather.

But just looking at the sand and waves, makes my salt-heart happy!

Obviously we’ve got a few more months of winter in front of us (boo!), but hopefully looking at these beach photos will give you a mental margarita!

First Landing Beach Session

1. Help Us Get to Know Your Family
Toni and Jordan met at Penn State in 2004.  They moved to the DC area and married in 2007 and have been in Northern Virginia ever since.  Jordan is an engineer with the US Department of Energy, and Toni began her career at the Washington National Cathedral, managing the ground crew.  Austen was born in 2014, and loves all things with wheels, particularly airplanes. They chose to come down to Virginia Beach to visit the ocean and get away for a few days.

2. Tell Us What a Perfect Weekend Looks Like for Your Family
A perfect weekend would start with dinner at a favorite restaurant on Friday night. Perhaps going to Kogiya or Coastal Flats, then checking out Tysons Corner Mall.  Austen loves the Lego store and riding the train near the movie theater.  Saturdays usually include field trips or activities.  Udvar Hazy is always a good choice as lately Austen is into hot air balloons. If there are farmers markets or craft fairs, there’s a good chance all three of us will be there.  Sundays are much better for relaxing and include sleeping in, cooking breakfast (usually French Toast or pancakes), managing the front flower bed and the garden in the rear, and taking Tavi (our resident Corgi) for walks.  If we are feeling particularly motivated, playground trips are usually on the agenda too.

3) Tell Us Something Unique About Each Person
  • Jordan likes to knit.
  • Toni is a big fan of Steven Universe.
  • Austen (who is 3) knows long words such as submarine and limousine.
