I just got back from Tamarindo, Costa Rica where it was a balmy 90 degrees every day… not a bad way to end February I think! In our efforts to expand into global domination, Eric and I are branching out to be a Costa Rica photographer, and kicking it off with some beautiful images to brighten up your day!

Unfortunately, we were down ½ the team because Eric was stuck in the US because of his “real job” (dang those real jobs!), but normally we would both be traveling together because A) we love each other and can’t stand to be apart, and B) we make a pretty amazing photography team!

Costa Rica Photographer & Destination Wedding Photographer

 

I haven’t said it enough, but we are very passionate about travelling around the US and abroad to capture all the amazing memories for our clients. Not only do we get to discover lots of local places and get to experience a different city – but it also gives us a mini-vacay from our three little shrimpies 🙂

Today’s blog is showing off an engagement session we did for Nalia and Javier and it couldn’t have been sweeter! We got to spend a few hours together on the beach laughing, snuggling and taking some pretty amazing pictures.

I was worried that if we were trying to be a Costa Rica photographer, the language barrier would be an issue (apply that fear to anywhere globally where English isn’t the first language!), but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to converse with locals! I definitely don’t speak Spanish, but feel like if I stayed in a Latin country for any extended period, I would definitely pick it up quickly. But one thing it definitely made me appreciate was the ability to communicate – no matter how poorly – in a different culture.

I’m so glad I got to spend some time together with Nalia and Javier while I was in Costa Rica. Thank you guys for being so willing to try pretty much anything, I think the pictures are totally worth it!
