Classy, sassy, and a whole lot of fun, this Cosplay engagement shoot that we did with Mikole and Kayzie was awesome! For me as the photographer, I had to throw out any ideas I had for what we normally do at engagement sessions. Cute and “posey posey” was not in the cards for this couple! But the end photos turned out amazing, and I am so happy that we took a different (and slightly nerdy) take with this cosplay engagement shoot.

I hope you love getting to know a little but about Mikole and Kayzie, and I know that Eric and I are super stoked to shoot their wedding next year (especially since we’re going to be dressing up in our Star Wars gear! 😉 )

Cosplay Engagement Shoot

How you two meet?

We met at an anime convention in Chesapeake, Virginia. I was dressed as Lightning from Final Fantasy 13 and he was dressed as Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy) mixed with Attack on Titan (an anime/manga). He asked to take a picture with me. After that, he found me on Facebook. Everything else is all history after that!

When did you know he was the one?
In my heart, I just knew. When you don’t want to go a day without hearing from someone or talking to them, you know you need them in your life. You know you want to wake up next to him.
What was the proposal like?
It’s a funny story actually. I told him I bought a ring because I’m so alpha. He didn’t believe me so he picked on me. So I made him close his eyes and gave it to him saying, “See I have a ring for YOU. I do wanna marry you.”

What are some of your favorite things to do together?
We love playing video games, anime conventions, cosplay, dancing, going to the beach, going snowboarding, cuddling, etc. We are nerds. He’s my “player 2”.
If you had to pick a word for your relationship, what would it be?
Mikole: Interesting. Kayzie: Adventurous
What are three dreams/goals for your marriage?
Raise a happy healthy family. Learn something entirely new together (new language). Travel the world! (Especially Japan!)
