Those who know me, know that I am NOT a morning person. This is a big reason that I have never been out to take pictures of the sun coming up, it’s just too dang early! But I’ve always wanted to chase the sunrise. On this particular day, everything ended up working out.

If you haven’t had a chance to see the sun rise over the ocean – you don’t know what you’re missing!

I’ve always said that the beach is my happy place.

There’s just something about the waves hitting the shore, and sand between your toes.

It does the soul good!

Chase the Sunrise

I drove out to do a photoshoot in the Outer Banks, NC and had to leave very early in the morning.

Since I was out and about anyway, I decided to take advantage of this opportunity and take some pictures of the sun coming up.

Being right there on the beach, I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful start to the day!

Sitting on the top of the dunes, among the seagrass, with the waves crashing on the shore being the only sound heard for miles.

It was peaceful and tranquil in a way that made me feel as if that morning was orchestrated just for me.
