It was supposed to be the perfect spot for an engagement shoot! Lauren and I brainstormed about the different place we could go to take pictures, but settled on a picture perfect spot in Pungo. The day of the shoot arrived, I pulled up to the agreed upon location and there are GIANT horse flies everywhere! To the point where Lauren jumped in my car so we could talk about a possible Plan B, since neither of us felt like being eaten alive by bugs the size of baseballs! Enter Plan B – a Blue Petes engagement shoot instead of all that nature in Pungo.

Blue Petes Engagement Shoot

After a quick pow-wow, Lauren suggested heading to do a Blue Petes engagement shoot. And the fact that she went to school with and knew the owners (one of whom stopped by during the session), made it all the more awesome! We were lucky in the sense that the weather was SUPER nice on the day we took pictures – we weren’t sweating to death, and there weren’t lots of bugs (thank you sweet baby gebus!).

However, what we did have to contend with was Lucky – Lauren and Kyle’s adorable german shepherd puppy. This sweet boy just wanted to run around like a crazy dog, smelling everything, digging and (unfortunately) jumping in the mud pit – eek! It was quite comical for me because there’s Lucky, looking as cute as he can be: all covered in mud!

Kyle was a trooper and took Lucky to the car, completely cleaning up the dog! But after that, Lucky was put on house arrest while we took pictures of just Lauren and Kyle… better to be safe than sorry 🙂

This pretty much sums up how the shoot went: Lucky had enough of taking pictures and decided he was done!

Lauren and Kyle, thank you so much for trusting me with photographing such a special time in your lives! Y’all have so much going on right meow, and I know that the future holds nothing but amazing things for you! Can’t wait till your wedding next year, it’s going to be amazing!!!
