The beginning of the year is usually a slower time for photographers. Even though winter brings a sense of lethargy, it’s generally a time when we try to play “catch up” on all those things that we didn’t quite get to previously. After attending the Adventures Always Conference last October, I signed up for the next cycle of Beloved training.
* Deep breath! I can do this!!! *
So at the beginning of February, I (along with 53 other people from all around the world) started on this journey to become certified Beloved photographers with the specific technique training happening in this portion of the coursework. Let me just say, it was quite a ride!
I’ll admit it.
The first week or two of the training, I was definitely NOT all in.
I felt like I had a lot going on and just “didn’t have time” to devote to the program in order to make the most of it.
How many of us can relate to that?!
I am a firm believer that we can always make time for what we really want to do, and for me, I wasn’t making the beloved training a priority. (shame on me!)
But I got my act together and finally started to get on board with the training and devoting the necessary time and brain power to really learning the material and digesting the information in order to make it useable in my photo sessions. The last part of the course was to find a couple and do a full Beloved session with them.
Let me just say that you could have all the beloved training in the world and still flounder a bit when it comes to your session! Eek!
Luckily, I had Katherine and Steven as my models and they were wonderful!!!
Both of them were so patient with me (and each other), and we were able to create some space for them to just enjoy being together and love one another. This photo shoot was done back at the end of March, and I have been on pins and needles ever since I submitted the photos waiting to hear back form the course instructors.
Yesterday I finally heard back…
Not only did they love my images, I passed the training and am now able to apply for my International Beloved Certification!!!
Yay Yay Yay!!!!! 😀
Katherine and Steven, thank you so much for being a part of my journey, I (literally!) couldn’t have done it without you two!!!
I look forward to many more beloved sessions and the chance to connect with all of my clients on a deeper level.
