Doing a January photo shoot may not seem like the best time to update the family photos hanging on the wall.
But my friend, you need to remember that we live in Virginia.
And here in the South, it doesn’t really get cold until after the holidays.
Once the temperatures do start dipping, they don’t stay there very long.
For Olivia, James and their sweet little princess Amelia, it was the perfect time to get out and enjoy the weather.
Stumpy Lake is an awesome spot to walk around and spend time together as a sweet little family.

January Photo Shoot
When I first get on location with my clients, the first order of business is to help everyone relax.
I let them know that it’s their job to have an amazing time together, laughing and loving and just having fun!
On the flipside, it’s MY job to make sure that the pictures come out fantastic.
So if we each do our job, then we will come out with some great images to help the family savor these precious moments.

Something adorable was the fact that Amelia held onto her precious little stuffed kitty (just about) the entire shoot.
I love that this will be such a special memory to look back on years down the road when she’s grown up!

Since we did the photo shoot near sunset, the light was so incredibly romantic!!! I love how it’s coming through the trees here and showing off Olivia and her handsome hubby James!
