1. Thinking that Outsourcing Isn’t for You

Why do we feel like we have to “do it all”? Of that it will look “fake” if someone else takes over an aspect of our business that we’re not excited about?

I’m here to tell you: It’s okay to outsource your work and get your life back.

This is something that I’ve totally taken and ran with. I was spending 40+ hours chained to my computer after a wedding going through all the images, or designing an album for clients…. it wasn’t bringing me joy. And even more than that, it was taking time away from other things I could be doing to promote my business/brand.

It seems cost-prohibitive, but in the end, it will actually save you money!

So what is one thing you can outsource this year?

2) Saying YES to the wrong thing

Is this your best yes?

I started asking myself this question a lot in the last year. It has really helped me prioritize what is actually important (especially when it comes to free things we are asked to do).

Are you saying Yes to things that you don’t really care about?
Because if you are, then you’ll have to say No to things that you actually want to invest in.

Make sure you are saying yes to things that make your heart happy!

3) Failing to Create Systems/Workflows in Your Business

Ever feel like you’re always running around trying to make sure everything got done correctly (but secretly, never sure if it is)?

Systems (or Standard Operating Procedures) will ensure that you are consistent across the board.

What is it that you do for every single client?

From the time you get an inquiry, to the time the thank-you note is written after services are completed…

Now where is that written out?

Set them up once, set them up right, and these systems will serve you throughout the rest of your business journey.

Plus you’ll be able to consistently be able to deliver an amazing client experience to every client.

4) Not Implementing Batch Work

This is a way you can work that is way more focused will allow you get SO MUCH more done.

Recently I’ve started timing myself to see how much work I can accomplish in 15-30 minute increments.

It is AMAZING how much you can cross off the t0-do list when your sole focus is the task at hand.

Seriously, that is how I can accomplish editing so many (hundreds) of wedding photos and having them back to the couple within a week.

What tasks/jobs can you implement batch work on?

5) Believing the Social Media Lie

Let’s face it – the Numbers Don’t Really Matter.

So why are we placing so much importance on the rise and fall of the numbers on our last Instagram post?!

Are any of those people who are liking (or not liking) your photos going to be someone you would be able to call at 2 o’clock in the morning for help?!

You are NOT defined by the amount of likes on your last gram.

You are NOT more or less worthy because of the number of followers you have.

Remember, the real magic is YOU, and that’s something people can’t get anywhere else!
