It’s a new year (yay!!!) and that brings with it the promise of so much possibility for all that we can accomplish! We’re chatting about our 2017 photography goals, by breaking what we’re doing into a few different categories to keep us straight!
2017 Photography Goals
Wedding Venues
Eric and I have had the opportunity to photograph weddings at so many gorgeous locations, but there are still a few places we want to do weddings – a venue bucket list, if you will! And we’re offering a serious discount to any bride who hires us to do their wedding here:
- Harrison Opera House – we’ve done events here, but we’re super excited to shoot a wedding here!
- Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center – this venue has wall to wall windows, think about how dreamy the lighting will be during your ceremony!
- Hermitage Museum & Gardens – this is such an intimate venue, and with water and old ruins, it has my trigger finger itching!
17 Weddings for 2017
There are photographers who shoot 20, 30, 40+ weddings each year, and that’s awesome! Each business is going to do what works for them! But Eric and I decided that we want to be a little picky about who we work with. Not only does this ensure that we only work with a select few AMAZING couples that we are the best fit for, but also that those couples are a great fit for us! We are able to give these lucky ducks an amazing client experience, and really wow them from the beginning of the planning process till afterwards when we deliver the final gallery to them.
Getting Published
2016 was amazing for the fact that our work for features on a bunch of amazing wedding blogs (like Pretty Pear Bride, BridalGuide.com and Bespoke Bride – just to name a few!), I want to continue that trend and have at least 12 features in 2017. I figure one per month is totally doable, now I just have to go back over all the amazing photos we have and start submitting!
New Planner, New Workflow
This year I’m trying out the amazing yearly planner from Colorvale that’s made specifically for photographers. I love that it is WAY more in-depth than any other planner and keeps my accountable by tracking everything and writing down things in a measurable way so I can see what I need to work on and what’s working already. I’ve used it for about a week, and I already love it!
Client Experience
I think this is something that we will be constantly working on (like your website – it’s never truly finished), but I want to make sure that we are giving each and every client an AMAZING experience so that they look back on their wedding day and say, “hiring Fresh Look was the best decision we made!”
Read Business Books
My goal is to read one business book a month. January’s selection is The Firestarter Sessions which I borrowed from my friend Carly, I’m excited to dig into it! February’s book will be #GirlBoss and March’s business pick will be Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear.
I figure if I write them all out, I’ll HAVE to read them 🙂
So now that you’ve read about our 2017 photography goals, what are YOU planning to accomplish with this new year?!
